An Infinite Dressing Room of Selves
As we moved through the “Know Thyself” syllabus, I grappled to articulate the elements that went into knowing myself. I hammered away at myself like an interrogator.
A Family Project
"What do I do when I need solace? When I lose the sense of wonder I can only get by physically being with the people I love, experiencing the places I love, and everything in between? I do what I’ve always done: I write about family.
Reckoning with Kerri Arsenault's MILL TOWN
The death of a parent, in most memoirs, would be the book’s beating heart.
Music for Desks: Prep School Bouillabaisse
“I came to the Beastie Boys because I had heard my peers talking about them, and I believed talked-about things were things worth knowing. My personal mission was to learn a little bit about everything I heard referenced, and to have at the ready my own opinion on each topic.”
The Thrill
I thought about the elements of a thriller, as a genre: danger, death, uncertainty, violence, crime, corruption. Certainly all of these things are in the ether as we speak; and suspense, well, we are all undeniably suspended in some way right now.
Silent Walkers
I have stopped dressing to be seen; I dress for walking. I cropped my hair and allowed it to go salt and pepper. With the mask and the hair and the tennis shoes, I am unrecognizable, sometimes even to myself.
Epiphany is hiring a Development Officer to join our team. If you’re an extrovert with a knack for nonprofit fundraising, especially in the NYC literary space, we want to hear from you.
