Welcoming Development Consultant Alison Meyers

Poet, bookseller, and literary nonprofit maven Alison Meyers is joining the Epiphany team as our Development Consultant. We’re delighted to have her guidance and strategic planning expertise as we work to better serve emerging writers. About ALISON MEYERs

Twice nominated for a Pushcart Prize, Alison Meyers is a poet who also publishes short fiction, criticism and personal essays. Her creative work can be found in print and online journals and in the anthology Gathered Light: The Poetry of Joni Mitchell’s Songs. Currently she consults for Epiphany Magazine and LitNYS, a coalition of New York State-based literary arts organizations committed to field-building work and collective thriving. With a priority of lifting up experiences that function at the intersection of art and social justice, Alison previously served as Executive Director of Writers & Books (Rochester, NY), 2019 – 2025, and Cave Canem Foundation (New York City), 2006-2016; as Director of Poetry & Marketing at Hill-Stead Museum (CT); and as General Manager of the Oberlin (College & Conservatory) Cooperative Bookstore, where she managed a $2.9 million budget and supervised a staff of 39. For many years, she owned and managed a Connecticut-based indie bookshop. Alison is treasurer of the board of Kweli Journal (NYC).
