The Breakout Prize is Open

Applications for Epiphany’s annual Breakout Prize are open and will close in each category on April 15 or when we receive 300 submissions. One winner in poetry and one in prose will each receive $1,000 and publication in our next print issue. Formerly just for student writers, this year we’re opening the prize to any writer who has not yet published full-length book. See our Submittable below for full guidelines.

This year’s judges are Cynthia Cruz in poetry and Alexandra Kleeman in prose.

Many of our past Breakout Prize winners have gone on to develop notable careers through signing with agents and securing book deals. Epiphany is thrilled to uplift bold, emerging literary talent. If this sounds like you, we want to read your work.
